Cyclohexane is a colourless, volatile, and flammable liquid
• One of the major uses of cyclohexane is in the production of adipic acid and caprolactam, both precursors for the manufacturing of nylon, a popular synthetic polymer.
• Due to its nonpolar nature, cyclohexane is an excellent solvent for many organic compounds in paints, varnishes, and resins.
